Sizing Europe recorded his 17th career success with a facile win in the Clonmel Oil Chase.

Henry De Bromhead's former Champion Chaser was a long way clear of his four rivals on the ratings and the race played out to script as he had nothing more than a canter round.

Andrew Lynch was content to track leader Rathlin for much of the race before letting the 1/7 favourite stride on down the back straight.

The injection of pace immediately had Rathlin, Magnanimity, Let Yourself Go and two-time winner of the race, Tranquil In Sea in trouble.

Sizing Europe sauntered clear in the home straight and pinged the final two fences on his way to an easy success.

The 10-year-old may not be quite the force of old, but he still looks sure to give his younger rivals plenty to think about in the months ahead.

Ruby Walsh elected to stay in Ireland rather than head to Taunton to ride for Paul Nicholls and the decision paid off as he partnered Tarla to a hugely impressive debut success over fences in the T.A. Morris Memorial Mares Chase.

Willie Mullins' charge was a classy hurdler and she looks set to take even higher rank over the larger obstacles as she jumped with alacrity and made all the running to slam more experienced rivals in the Grade Three contest.
