Shergar Cup glory went to the Rest of the World team at Ascot on Saturday, with the Silver Saddle for best rider going to Matt Chadwick.

The Yutake Take-skippered Rest of the World side racked up 89 points (45 from Chadwick), with Frankie Dettori's European outfit pocketing 55. Hayley Turner's girls team were third with 54, with GB and Ireland eight back from that mark.

Chadwick, 22, was awarded top honours thanks to one victory - aboard Mince in the Sprint; the mount's first triumph since May - and three runner-up finishes.

Turner was second in the individual standings, with Cristian Demuro, younger brother of Mirco, third thanks to Desert Law's Shergar Cup Dash success.

At Haydock, Hunter's Light took the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes by two lengths from favourite Jet Away. Winning jockey Silvestre de Sousa said: "He travelled well, so I just let him roll. He's gone and done it well. That was a Group Three, so perhaps we'll look for a Group Two now. Everything was right for him - the trip and the ground was perfect."

The Sweet Solera Stakes brought a triumph for Mahmood Al Zarooni as Mickael Barzalona led favourite Certify to glory from Dream Maker.
