Donald tops Nedbank leaderboard after play suspended
Luke Donald sits top of the leaderboard at the Nedbank Golf Challenge after play was suspended for the day due to inclement weather.
Donald was five-under-par after 11 holes when players were forced to depart the course at the Gary Player Country Club because of threats of lightning.
The former world No. 1 birdied the opening hole and immediately followed with an eagle at the second. Two birdies completed his front nine before play was suspended.
Donald sits two shots ahead of Jamie Donaldson and Thomas Bjorn, while Martin Kaymer is a further shot behind at two-under after his first six holes.
Sergio Garcia is one-under after nine holes, while Charl Schwartzel joins the Spaniard on the same scoreline after his eight holes.
Elsewhere, Brit Justin Rose suffered four bogeys in eight holes, ending his day at four-over par. Play is set to resume in Sun City on Friday, 07.30 local time.
