Brandt Snedeker has injured his leg after a freak accident involving a Segway in China.

The American lost his balance and landed awkwardly on his left leg when he jumped off the transportation device at a corporate outing at Sheshan International.

According to doctors he has bruised his left tibia and strained the ACL in his left knee. Snedeker immediately withdrew from the Australian PGA Championship and has returned home to Nashville.

The 32-year-old says he will not require surgery, and expects to be out for between two weeks to two months. Snedeker is scheduled to compete at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge in California starting December 5, and is also pencilled in for the Franklin Templeton Shootout a week later in Florida.

Earlier this year Snedeker missed six weeks when he cracked a rib.
