Sergio Garcia has plenty of work to do if he is to retain his title at the Wyndham Championship as he heads into the final round five shots off leaders Patrick Reed and John Huh.

The Spaniard began the defence of his crown impressively on Thursday with a round of five-under 65, but an even 70 saw him fall down the leaderboard.

However, he carded the same score after making three birdies, but was undone by one bogey on the par-5 fifth and a double bogey on the par-4 11th, and missed the opportunity to close the gap to the players at the top.

The lead is shared by Reed and Huh on 10-under, but there are three players one shot adrift, one of those being 20-year-old Jordan Spieth, who had led the round but dropped four shots during the day.

Spieth though is in contention, and were he to triumph on Sunday would become the youngest two-time PGA Tour winner, after becoming the fourth youngest earlier in the year with his maiden win at the John Deere Classic. That victory also made him the youngest PGA Tour winner in 82 years.
