Toulon have brought in Karin Bougherara on a one-year medical joker contract.

Bougherara will offer cover at tight-head while Martin Castrogiovanni continues his recovery from an adductor injury. Bougherara, 25, has been without a club since leaving Pau at the end of last season.

The capture of Bougherara marks the end of a testing time for Toulon as they sought cover for Castrogiovanni. They started by attempting to bring in Simone Ferrari but he pulled out of the deal to return to Italy. They then focused on signing World Cup-winner CJ Van der Linde but that move was called off when he reportedly fell short of the fitness required.
