Torres vows not to celebrate against Liverpool

Some Liverpool fans showed their feelings on deadline day

Fernando Torres has insisted he will not celebrate should he score a debut goal for Chelsea against Liverpool on Sunday, but he is not certain to be handed a start.
Wounds are still open on Merseyside after Torres left Anfield for Stamford Bridge on deadline day and a quirk of fate means his debut will come on Sunday against his former club. The game will take place at Torres' new home, so the reception of the Chelsea fans will go some way to drowning out the travelling Reds faithful.
The Liverpool fans are sure to make their feelings known, but even a hot reception will not prompt Torres to celebrate should he find the target.
"I have only nice things to say about the Liverpool fans and the people of Liverpool," Torres said. "They made me feel good and I had three and a half fantastic seasons there."
Asked if he will celebrate, he said: "First of all I have to play, then I have to score. A lot of things have to happen but I don't think I will [celebrate].
"I have been in this situation before when I signed for Liverpool - big money, big expectation, so this is not new. I'm very excited about this new life, this new era in front of me. I'm ready to start."
Chelsea produced one of their most fluid performances of the season in beating Sunderland in midweek, with strikers Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou all impressing, and Carlo Ancelotti is in two minds about making changes to include Torres.
"Fernando is in good condition," Ancelotti said. "He is available to play against Liverpool, I don't know if he will start or maybe come on during the game. It is my decision, and I will take the decision before 4pm on Sunday."
