Montpellier have confirmed that they have accepted an offer from Tottenham for defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

Stambouli, 24, has just one year left to run on his contract at the Stade de la Mosson and is keen to take on a new challenge.

He has attracted the attention of Swansea, Marseille and Fiorentina in recent weeks, but appears set to move to London and join the Premier League.

"MHSC and Tottenham Hotspur FC have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Benjamin Stambouli,'' a statement on the Ligue 1 club's website read. "He will go to London in the next few hours to undergo a medical and finalise his contract.''
