Mesut Ozil makes his first Arsenal start of the season as fellow Germany team-mate Per Mertesacker also comes back into the fold for Saturday's trip to Everton.

Olivier Giroud has been dropped to the bench by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger following the club's Champions League play-off first leg in Istanbul last week.

Santi Cazorla also makes way as Mathieu Flamini partners Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramesey in midfield. Calum Chambers also retains his starting place in defence.

Alexis Sanchez is preferred up front.

For the home side, Steven Naismith will be looking to add to last week's goal at Leicester while Romelu Lukaku also starts.
