Javier Hernandez's agent has increased the intrigue surrounding the touted swap deal involving the Manchester United striker and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

United have been linked with Vidal for much of the summer, with Louis van Gaal keen to bring in a midfield enforcer, though speculation has waned in recent weeks with the Chilean signalling his desire to stay in Turin.

But recent reports suggest Juventus remain interested in a deal with United that will see Vidal head to Old Trafford in a deal worth £36 million plus two players - including Hernandez.

And when the striker's agent, Eduardo Hernandez, was asked about a potential swap deal, he was understandably coy but did fuel the speculation.

"For now I cannot comment on the situation - but there will be news soon," he told reporters in South America.

Earlier reports in Chile had suggested Van Gaal had reservations about Vidal due to the midfielder's history of persistent knee injuries.
