Newcastle are set to continue their summer spending with the signing of Remy Cabella from Montpellier.

ESPN correspondent Julien Laurens reports that Newcastle have agreed a deal for Cabella, who has been linked with a move to St James' Park since January.

Cabella, who scored 14 times in 37 Ligue 1 appearances last season, is expected to join Newcastle for a fee in the region of £12 million.

The deal is set to take Newcastle's transfer outlay this summer to £21 million.

Alan Pardew has been looking to add some creativity to his midfield following the departure of Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Cabella now appears to be the man to fill the void along with Siem de Jong, who signed on a six-year deal from Ajax earlier this month for an undisclosed fee. Newcastle have also signed Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez and Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
