Herrera completes United transfer

Ander Herrera says he "can't wait" to play for Louis van Gaal after completing his £29 million move to Manchester United and is eager to learn from a manager he considers one of the best in the world.

The midfielder paid his own buy-out clause to sign from Athletic Bilbao on Thursday and feels he is lucky to be getting a footballing education from the Dutchman.

"Louis van Gaal is one of the best managers in the world and, for me, I am lucky to be working with him," said Herrera.

"I want to learn a lot of things and I cannot wait to play with Van Gaal, my new team-mates and for Manchester United.

"I'm really excited to go on pre-season to America and play against Roma and Inter Milan."

United have been busy in the transfer market with Herrera the first of two signings in as many days, as Luke Shaw completed a £27 million move to the club on Friday.

Herrera added: "I am a midfielder and one of the best qualities I have is that I always want to be involved. I want the ball and want to help my team-mates.

"I know the Premier League and really like it. I think I will grow up in the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world."
