Blind, 24, has become a key member of Van Gaal's Netherlands team, setting up their first two goals in the 5-1 opening win against Spain last week.

"All the attention is a very big thing now, but I try not to think about it too much and will keep my feet on the ground," he told a news conference, according to Voetbal International.

"The link with Manchester United is easily made because [international team-mate] Robin [van Persie] is playing there and Van Gaal takes over next season."

The versatile Blind operates as a central midfielder for Ajax, where he has won the Eredivisie for the last four seasons, but is playing as a left wing-back for his country in Brazil.

Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Blind, whose father Danny captained Van Gaal's Ajax's team when they won the Champions League in 1995.
