Rooney returns as captain for Manchester United against Everton

Wayne Rooney has recovered from a toe injury and starts for Manchester United against his former club Everton at Goodison Park.

Marouane Fellaini only starts on the bench against the team he moved from in the summer transfer window. Nani makes his first start since December, while United manager David Moyes is also making his first return to the club he managed for 11 years.

Everton starting XI: Howard, Baines, Distin, Stones, Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Mirallas, Barkley, Naismith, Lukaku.

Substitutes: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Osman, Garbutt, Alcaraz.

Manchester United starting XI: De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Buttner, Carrick, Fletcher, Nani, Kagawa, Mata, Rooney.

Substitutes: Lindegaard, Giggs, Hernandez, Welbeck, Valencia, Fellaini, Januzaj.
