Aaron Ramsey on Arsenal bench for vital clash against Everton

Aaron Ramsey has been named on the bench for Arsenal in their crucial tie against Everton at Goodison Park.

The midfielder has been sidelined since December 26 with a thigh injury, and could feature for the Gunners as they look to keep their Premier League hopes alive from eight points adrift.

Kieran Gibbs misses out for Arsenal as Nacho Monreal comes in for the one and only change from the 1-1 draw against Manchester City last Sunday.

Everton have played one game less than fourth-placed Arsenal and are just four points off Arsene Wenger's side as they aim to secure Champions League football next season.

Everton youngster Ross Barkley is on the bench after suffering a calf injury in the win over Fulham last weekend.

Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud.

Substitutes: Viviano, Jenkinson, Bellerin, Kallstrom, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Sanogo.

Everton starting XI: Howard, Baines, Distin, Stones, Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Naismith, Mirallas, Lukaku.

Substitutes: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Barkley, Garbutt, Alcaraz.
