Mourinho questions Foy decisions

Jose Mourinho claims the Premier League should consider keeping referee Chris Foy away from Chelsea matches.

The official has sent off six Chelsea players - as well as the Portuguese manager - in the last eight games he has taken charge involving them.

Mourinho, along with midfielders Willian and Ramires, were sent off during the Chelsea's ill-tempered defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Willian was shown a second yellow card shortly before Fabian Delph struck Villa's only goal eight minutes from time to put a big dent in Chelsea's title hopes. However, Mourinho took centre stage in injury time moments after Foy had dismissed Ramires for an ugly tackle on Karim El Ahmadi.

The manager said: "Maybe it's helpful that the committee doesn't send him to our matches.

"I don't have the right to request [that]. It's just I think they have to analyse the situation and see if every time he has Chelsea - or not every time - but many times he has Chelsea and problems are there, I think maybe it would be a good decision."

Mourinho had revealed immediately after the match that he had tried to get answers from Foy over the sending offs and believes it affects preparations for a game if his team know the official will be in charge.

"The players were speaking about it during the week," he said. "They have a reason. I never care who the ref is. I don't want to know.

"But during the week the players were speaking about the situation and I think from now on the next time we have Mr Foy I have to work my people in a different way."
