Gosling accepts FA betting charge

Newcastle midfielder Dan Gosling has accepted a charge from the FA for breaking betting rules.

The 24-year-old, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Championship side Blackpool, has admitted to "multiple breaches" of the gambling rules which are currently in place, which state no player is allowed to bet on a match they are participating in or have any influence over.

A statement from Newcastle read: "Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling has admitted an FA charge in relation to multiple breaches of Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting. Gosling has requested a personal hearing, the date of which will be set in due course.
