Tomlinson makes Donny debut

One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson made his debut as a professional footballer after coming on as a second half substitute during a Doncaster Rovers Reserves match against Rotherham.

Following his decision to sign a non-contract deal with his boyhood club last summer, Tomlinson was greeted by a large crowd - mainly teenage girls - as he arrived at the Keepmoat Stadium ahead of Wednesday's tie.

Tomlinson was named on the bench but had to wait until the hour mark before making his long-awaited debut.

Despite an end-to-end tie in Yorkshire, it proved not to be a dream debut for the youngster - and his adoring crowd - as Doncaster were held to a 0-0 draw by the visitors.
