Hull and Charlton book FA Cup quarter-final spots
Hull City are through to the FA Cup quarter-finals after they defeated Brighton 2-1 at the KC Stadium on Monday.
Curtis Davies put the home side in front with the scrappiest of goals on 14 minutes; his header looped over Brighton goalkeeper Peter Brezovan and past Jake Forster-Caskey, who failed to clear the ball under pressure.
Robert Koren doubled Hull's lead on 36 minutes with an equally as patchy effort. His 25-yard free-kick deflected off Keith Andrews before clipping the foot of Brezovan and dropping into the net.
Lewis Dunk, in search of his first ever Brighton goal, clattered a shot against the underside of the crossbar at the start of the second half, before Leonardo Uloa gave the away side hope when heading in David Lopez's free-kick with 20 minutes to go.
Uloa curled another effort wide in the dying minutes but Hull held on to book a last eight tie at home to Sunderland.
Meanwhile, Charlton denied Sheffield Wednesday a Steel City quarter-final derby as they ran out 2-1 winners at Hillsborough.
Callum Harriott blasted the away side in front before Leon Best equalised just shy of the hour mark. Wednesday were level for all of eight minutes as Simon Church headed Charlton in front, and it stayed that way until the final whistle.
FA Cup quarter-final draw:

Hull City v Sunderland
Sheffield United v Charlton Athletic
Manchester City v Wigan Athletic
