The FC team discusses the winners and losers of the January transfer window after an anticlimactic conclusion on Friday.

Fulham completed a very busy transfer deadline day by signing two midfielders from Manchester United.

Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole both joined Fulham on deals until the summer of 2017, with options for an additional year.

Both players are familiar with Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen from his time as youth team coach and assistant at United.

"I've known Rene since I was nine and there was talk when he took over that he was interested in me, so it's just picked up steam this week really and I'm here now and glad to sign," Tunnicliffe told Fulham's official site.

Tunnicliffe, 21, had been on loan to Ipswich Town, where he appeared in 27 matches this season.

He appeared as a substitute in two League Cup matches for United early in the 2012 campaign.

Tunnicliffe has also played on loan at Peterborough United and Barnsley.

"Rene didn't have to sell Fulham to me, for a start they're in the Premier League and I want to play at the highest level," Tunnicliffe said. "I know Rene and I know he's a great coach so I'm just excited to work for him.

Cole, 20, came up through United's academy and first appeared as a substitute in a League Cup win against Leeds United in 2011.

He played for England in last year's FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The signings capped Fulham's busy deadline day which saw the Cottagers bid farewell to Dimitar Berbatov and Philippe Senderos, while bringing in Konstantinos Mitroglou, Lewis Holtby and John Heitinga.
