ESPN FC: Vidic wants out of Old Trafford?

Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra will head an exodus of up to eight senior players likely to leave Manchester United in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the defensive trio will be followed through the Old Trafford exit by Nani, Anderson, Alex Buttner, Anders Lindegaard and striker Javier Hernandez.

The champions are yet to win a game in 2014 after a New Year's day loss to Tottenham in the league was followed up by cup defeats against Swansea and Sunderland.

It is United's worst run of form since 1992, and manager David Moyes is keen to stamp his authority with new signings for a squad which, Marouane Fellaini aside, was entirely inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson's time at the club.

Vidic will be the biggest surprise of those players tipped to leave, with the captain unlikely to sign a new deal.

Ferdinand, meanwhile, is expected to retire at the end of the season when his contract expires.
