Mata set for crisis Chelsea talks
Juan Mata is set for crisis talks this week over his future at Chelsea, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.
Speculation over Mata's situation at Stamford Bridge has been rife, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho recently admitting the "door is open" for the Spaniard to leave the club in the January transfer window. However, Mourinho has also indicated he wants Mata to stay in West London.
The newspaper reports that Mata's agent and father, Juan Sr, is expected to travel to London to hold talks regarding his client's immediate future. A loan move to Atletico Madrid has been touted as a possible solution for Mata, with the view to a permanent move in the summer.
With Spain possessing a strong squad ahead of their World Cup defence in Brazil, Mata is understood to be anxious over securing a spot on the plane to South America and wants regular football to aid his cause.
Mata's plight has attracted interest from plenty of European clubs, with current Napoli and former Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez tracking the 25-year-old.
