Arsene Wenger is set to sign a new two-year contract at Arsenal, before filling the position vacated by David Dein, according to the Sunday People.

Wenger's current deal expires at the end of the season, and it appears he will extend his time at the Gunners after taking over as manager in 1996.

And the Sunday People report that he will put pen to paper in a new two-year contract, before taking on a role in the boardroom, one that Dein used to have as the club's vice-chairman.

Dein was instrumental in bringing players to Arsenal during Wenger's early years in North London, but since he departed in 2007 it is an area where Arsenal have struggled in recent times.

The publication claim that once Wenger is done with his new deal, he will become the club's top scout and be responsible for transfers.
