Rooney starts for Manchester United, Hart returns to Manchester City line-up

Wayne Rooney has overcome doubts that he would miss out against West Ham United due to injury and starts for Manchester United in the Premier League this afternoon.

Manager David Moyes had confirmed on Friday that Rooney was carrying an injury, and with Robin van Persie already ruled out until January, his fitness will be welcomed at Old Trafford.

Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Evra, Evans, Smalling, Januzaj, Valencia, Jones, Cleverley, Rooney, Welbeck

Substitutes: Johnstone, Giggs, Chicharito, Young, Fletcher, Kagawa, Buttner

West Ham: Adrian, Demel, Tomkins, Collins, McCartney, Noble, Morrison, Taylor, Jarvis, Maiga, Diame

Substitutes: Jaaskelainen, Rat, Collison, O'Brien, Diarra, J Cole, C Cole

Joe Hart makes his first Premier League start for Manchester City since October 27 as he returns for the trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Gael Clichy also starts at full-back with Pablo Zabaleta nursing an injury picked up against Leicester in the midweek Capital One Cup victory. Dimitar Berbatov misses out for Fulham through injury.
