Porto will demand £40 million for Manchester United target Eliaquim Mangala, according to reports.

United boss David Moyes was at the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Wednesday with first-team coach Jimmy Lumsden and the club's Portugal-based scout as Porto were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.

And according to the Daily Mail, the lack of funds earned from progressing in Europe's premier club competition may force the Portuguese champions to sell - with Mangala and Jackson Martinez, recently linked with Chelsea, the likely candidates to leave.

The 22-year-old French defender Mangala has a £40m release clasuse in his contract and it is understood that Manchester City have also made enquiries, with injury-prone Vincent Kompany a target for big-spending Monaco.
