United earn draw

David Moyes has revealed that Manchester United are in no rush to hold contract talks with striker Wayne Rooney.

Rooney scored twice against Tottenham to help United claim a point in the 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane on Sunday, but his manager admits he is not sure when the club will discuss a new deal with the England international, whose current contract has 18 months left to run.

"When will we talk to him about the contract? I don't really know," Moyes said following the draw with Spurs.

"I think we are fine. We are just moving on from the summer. It will be done in good course. The appropriate people will talk when the time is right."

Rooney was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer as he was reportedly frustrated with his time at Old Trafford.

While Moyes says there is no rush for the deal, the Manchester Evening News reports that Rooney could sign a new contract by Christmas.
