Joe Cole is ready to leave West Ham after being "publicly humiliated" by manager Sam Allardyce.

The midfielder was hauled off after just 40 minutes during Saturday's 3-0 defeat to former club Chelsea.

And a source close to the 32-year-old told The Sun: "Joey has had it with Sam.

"He felt publicly humiliated at being hooked so early in the game against his old club and wants out. Hopefully there will be a few takers in January.

"He was looking forward to a great season with West Ham but now it's all turned sour."

The former England star stormed off to the dressing room when he and Jack Collison were replaced after Chelsea's second goal.

After the match, Allardyce said: "The change was needed. I can't help the team playing like that and once the two goals went in I had to change something. Somebody had to come off."
