Newcastle have a battle on their hands to secure the services of Wilfried Zaha on loan as the Manchester United star is wanted by six other Premier League clubs.

The 21-year-old has only made two appearances for United following his move from Crystal Palace for a reported £10 million, and yet to feature in the Premier League is set to make a loan move away from Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

According to the Sun, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has made a bid for the England Under-21 player, but the newspaper reports that the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom, Swansea and Premier League new-boys Cardiff are looking to add him to their squads in January.

The Sun also quotes a source close to Zaha as saying: "Wilf has too much time on his hands and just needs to be playing now."
