Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky miss out for Arsenal against Manchester United through illness, with Thomas Vermaelen and Mathieu Flamini coming into the side.

Arsene Wenger confirmed his side's preparations had been hit by a sickness bug in the camp. He said: "It's disrupted us a little bit but we're perfectly focused and ready for the battle. No excuses."

Shinji Kagawa starts on the left for United, with Adnan Januzaj dropping to the bench. Marouane Fellaini is also among the substitutes. Ashley Young is left out altogether following criticism for an apparent dive against Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
