Wilshere out of Arsenal team to face Liverpool

Jack Wilshere misses out for Arsenal due to an ankle injury as they face Liverpool in a top-two clash in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium.

Mesut Ozil, who came on as a substitute in Arsenal's League Cup defeat to Chelsea in midweek, returns to the starting line-up, while Nicklas Bendtner's lamentable performance in that match sees him drop to the bench with Olivier Giroud retaining his starting position in the league.

For the visitors, Glen Johnson misses out through illness, meaning Jon Flanagan starts at full-back. Philippe Coutinho is on the bench for Brendan Rodgers' men after seven weeks out with a shoulder injury.
