Alexandre Pato has revealed he turned down an offer to join Tottenham in the summer from Corinthians.

The Brazilian moved from AC Milan back to his homeland for around £12 million in January, and the 24-year-old is quoted by a Brazilian television channel that a switch to the Premier League to Spurs was on during the last transfer window.

"Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer," Pato, who scored 63 goals for Milan during his six seasons at the Italian side, said.

"I sat at the table with the club and my agent and I decided I wanted to stay."
