Tottenham are weighing up a move to bring Basel winger Mohamed Salah to White Hart Lane.

Salah scored in Basel's 2-1 Champions League win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in September.

Andre Villas-Boas was impressed with Salah after he excelled in both legs when the Swiss side knocked Spurs out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals last season, and was keen to see if the 21-year-old kept progressing.

Villas-Boas sent scouts to Stamford Bridge to watch the game between Chelsea and Basel, and he is hoping to check on Salah again before the January transfer window opens.

Salah is valued at £15 million by Basel.
