West Bromwich Albion striker Stephane Sessegnon has been banned from driving for 20 months for getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.
Sessegnon, a Sunderland player at the time of the offence in August, also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence or insurance.
The 29-year-old, appearing at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, was fined £7,605.
The court heard Sessegnon was more than double the drink-driving limit when he was stopped by police in Newcastle after Sunderland's 4-2 win over MK Dons in the League Cup.
