Queens Park Rangers maintained their strong start to the season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Leeds at Elland Road.

Clint Hill's close-range finish, his first goal in two-and-a-half years, gave QPR the lead after Joey Barton had seen a first-half effort incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Rodolph Austin nearly grabbed a draw for Leeds in the dying seconds but his long-range shot struck the bar.

Blackpool sit top of the league after Tom Ince struck late on to give them a 1-0 win against Watford and keep his side's unbeaten run going. Troy Deeney's early penalty was saved by Matt Gilks, while the Hornets also struck the post twice through Marco Faraoni and Diego Fabbrini.

Nottingham Forest suffered their first defeat of the season after Wigan came from behind to beat them 2-1. Andy Reid curled in a free-kick inside the first ten minutes but Shaun Maloney's penalty brought Wigan level before Jordi Gomez tucked home on 35 minutes.

In League One, Swindon thrashed Crewe 5-0 with Tottenham loanee Ryan Mason grabbing a second-half hat-trick, while Wolves won 3-1 at Port Vale thanks to strikes from Leigh Griffiths, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Kevin McDonald, with Tom Pope netting a late consolation for the hosts.

In League Two, leaders Chesterfield recorded a 2-0 win at Portsmouth courtesy of strikes in the last three minutes from Armand Gnanduillet and Tendayi Darikwa. A late first-half salvo, with Harry Pell scoring from the spot and Michael Smith netting soon after, gave AFC Wimbledon a 2-0 win at home to Fleetwood.
