Clint Hill's close-range finish, his first goal in two-and-a-half years, gave QPR the lead after Joey Barton had seen a first-half effort incorrectly ruled out for offside.

In League One, Swindon thrashed Crewe 5-0 with Tottenham loanee Ryan Mason grabbing a second-half hat-trick, while Wolves won 3-1 at Port Vale thanks to strikes from Leigh Griffiths, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Kevin McDonald, with Tom Pope netting a late consolation for the hosts.
In League Two, leaders Chesterfield recorded a 2-0 win at Portsmouth courtesy of strikes in the last three minutes from Armand Gnanduillet and Tendayi Darikwa. A late first-half salvo, with Harry Pell scoring from the spot and Michael Smith netting soon after, gave AFC Wimbledon a 2-0 win at home to Fleetwood.
