Luis Enrique believes Liverpool have the ability to fight for trophies this season following the summer signings made by manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds under Rodgers in his debut season struggled during the early stages as they languished in the bottom half of the Premier League in the first few months.

However, Rodgers turned the fortunes of the club around by guiding the Merseyside outfit to a seventh place finish in the table, and the boss has added goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto to his ranks for the new season.

And Enrique feels with the latest recruits they have the capability of challenging for honours.

"We already have a great team and we have more some new players and of course with more additions we can fight for everything," Enrique said.

"I think we have a very, very good team."
