Galatasaray have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo from Juventus for an initial €3.75 million.

Melo - who was linked with a move to Arsenal before joining Juve in a €25m deal from Fiorentina in 2009 - failed to live up to expectations with the Old Lady and has spent the last two seasons on loan at Galatasaray, where he has won back-to-back Turkish league titles.

The 30-year-old, who has won 22 caps for his country and featured at the 2010 World Cup, will now join the Turkish side on a permanent basis.

A statement on the Italian side's official website read: "Juventus Football Club can announce that Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo de Carvalho has today been sold to Turkish side Galatasaray for an initial fee of €3.75m.

"The payment could rise by a further €0.5m should the player achieve certain sporting targets stipulated in the agreement between the two clubs."
