Wigan face Barnsley in Champ opener

FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic will begin life in the Championship away to Barnsley, with Owen Coyle's first competitive game in charge of the Latics coming a week before a Community Shield showdown with Manchester United.

Coyle takes his side to Oakwell in Wigan's first game back in the division since 2004, while fellow relegated club QPR host Sheffield Wednesday at Loftus Road and Reading play Ipswich.

Newly promoted Yeovil, playing in their inaugural Championship season, face a trip to Steve Lomas' Millwall, with League One champions Doncaster taking on Blackpool and Bournemouth beginning life in the second tier with a home clash with Charlton.

Watford will aim to put the heartbreak of May's play-off final defeat to Crystal Palace behind them with a trip to Birmingham City.
