Chelsea looking at Van Ginkel
Chelsea are interested in capturing the signature of Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Marco van Ginkel, according to the player's agent.
The 20-year-old is currently impressing for Netherlands at the European Under-21 Championship and the Blues, who have an affiliation with Vitesse, are said to be are battling with Ajax to secure the wanted youngster.
However, a deal has yet to be agreed for the Amersfoort-born player, who still has two years remaining on his current contract.
"Chelsea are interested, we don't deny it," Van Ginkel's agent Karel Jansen told De Telegraaf. "But there are more clubs. Ajax had made official contact with Vitesse, but they don't want to talk with them.
"The situation is that we wait until after the the European Championship and then will look for the best step.
"Marco still has two years under contract at the GelreDome, so we don't know if he will leave Arnhem but there isn't an agreement right now."
Van Ginkel is a product of the Vitesse youth system, having joined the club's academy in 1999, and made his senior debut for the Eredivisie club in April 2010.
