Bale 'would listen' to offer from Real Madrid
Gareth Bale would be open to offers from Real Madrid, his agent has told Spanish TV, although he also claimed the Tottenham winger would cost more than Neymar.
Neymar agreed a five-year deal with Barcelona on Sunday for a fee believed to be worth in the region of €60 million. After losing out on the Brazil international, Real are believed to have turned their attention to Bale, who caught the eye with 21 Premier League goals last season.
The club's sporting director Zinedine Zidane has publicly talked up a potential move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the 23-year-old Wales international, saying: "Is he good enough for Real Madrid? Of course. He is more than good enough to play for Real Madrid."
And although Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has admitted they are not currently in talks about a transfer, he has invited Real to follow up on their reported interest with a concrete offer.
"If someone like [Real president Florentino] Perez was interested in Bale it would be a great honour," Barnett is quoted as saying on Marca TV show 'Futboleros'. "And we would listen. We're not speaking to anybody…
"Bale is better than Neymar. He's proved himself better than Neymar. He's proved himself in the best league in the world.
"I would hope that any club who wants him, wants him not because they lost Neymar. I would think he'd have to be their first choice… Listen, it's crazy, but whatever Neymar cost, Gareth Bale is worth more."
