Ferdinand avoids charge for Torres trip
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will not be punished for his trip on Chelsea's Fernando Torres during their FA Cup quarter-final draw at Old Trafford.
During the 2-2 draw on Sunday, Ferdinand was seen to trip the Spanish striker in an off-the-ball incident before hauling him back to his feet after he had fallen over.
However, after footage was shown to referee Howard Webb, the official deemed the incident not worthy of a red card and the FA will now not take any action against Ferdinand.
