Manchester City have outlined their backing for the trial of safe standing at the Etihad Stadium.

The Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) is campaigning for the implementation of safe standing in England, like that which has proved successful in Germany.

Last week, the FSF announced that thirteen English league clubs were in favour of reintroducing standing areas into football grounds.

And City have said they would support the movement, if it gets the backing of the Football Association - with the FSF pushing the introduction of fold-up rail seats.

A spokesman for the club said in the Mirror: "Manchester City Football Club is supportive of initiatives to enhance - safely - our fans' match-day experience, if supported by the appropriate football authorities."
