Gallas eyes derby tonic
Tottenham captain William Gallas has said he thinks his side must beat Arsenal this weekend to give themselves a boost in the race for fourth place.
Spurs have suffered back-to-back defeats against Wigan and Manchester City to drop to seventh in the table - a point above their North London neighbours, but three points off fourth.
Gallas, 35, has predicted an intense battle for the final Champions League berth this season, and has told his team-mates they can take an early advantage with victory at the Emirates.
"If we believe in it, maybe we can finish fourth - but there are so many teams who want to finish fourth as well," the Sun quoted him as saying. "Now we have the big derby with Arsenal, and we need a good result there.
"After what we did at United [where Tottenham took a 3-0 lead before winning 3-2], we have to believe we can win anywhere.
"We have to be convinced we can do something at Arsenal."
Spurs overcame a shaky start to the season under new boss Andre Villas-Boas to put together an impressive run of Premier League results, but their momentum was checked when Wigan won 1-0 at White Hart Lane before City inflicted a late defeat at the Etihad on Sunday.
