Clint Dempsey is looking to make a bigger impact after settling in well at Tottenham.

The USA international made the move to Tottenham from Fulham towards the end of the summer transfer window and looks to be a key player for manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Dempsey has one Premier League goal to his name and feels there is more to come in the months ahead.

"I feel like I am settling in," Dempsey told Sky Sports News. "I have been trying to hit the ground running.

"I've played in seven games, got six starts and have a goal and an assist in the league. I would like to have better numbers but at the same time I am playing consistently at a good level and it is about getting more goals, more assists as that makes me contribute more."

Spurs face a big home clash with Chelsea at the weekend and Dempsey feels it will be a gauge of their title credentials.

"It is going to be an important game as the table is so tight," he said. "You have to take care of your home games, we want to keep going on this run and getting positive results. We don't want it to stop. We know it is going to be a tough test, but we are excited about it.

"We have Adebayor back to fitness which is good, he brings more quality and depth to the side."
