Real not in running for Falcao, says Mourinho
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao - increasing the chances of the Colombian moving to the Premier League.
The prolific hitman is one of the most sought-after players in world football, with both Chelsea and Manchester City known to be admirers.
Atletico's asking price might prove a stumbling block for the two Premier League teams, however, with neither expecting to make a move for the player in the January transfer window.
When they do launch a bid, however, it does not appear Real Madrid will rival them for Falcao's signature - with Mourinho calling the ex-Porto forward "forbidden fruit".
Mourinho compared Falcao to Sergio Aguero, now at Manchester City, saying that Real had an understanding with their cross-city rivals that they would not attempt to poach their star players.
"Falcao is a fundamental player for our rivals, just like Kun Aguero was," Mourinho told A Bola. "There is a pact of non-aggression between Real Madrid and Atletico so I think Falcao is a forbidden fruit.
"He's a fantastic player, and I get the feeling he is a lovely guy, and I'm very happy to see him do so well at Atletico."
