Didier Deschamps has told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to keep his nose out of selection policy for the France national side.

Wenger has been left counting the cost of an injury to influential midfielder Abou Diaby and laid the blame squarely at the door of France.

"I said many times that if France wanted Diaby for their game in Spain later this month, they should not take him for Finland and Russia at the start of the season," Wenger said. "They could have taken him and not played him because the guy has been out for a year."

Deschamps has named his squad for France's friendly with Japan and World Cup qualifier with Spain and he has had some choice words for Wenger.

"I want to remind him that I am the only one that will decide who will be picked and how long those who are picked will play," Deschamps said. "There is only one to decide and that's me."
