Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand snubbed John Terry and Ashley Cole's offer of a handshake prior to the Premier League clash with Chelsea.

It was the first time Ferdinand and Terry had met on the field of play since Terry's trial in July. Terry was found not guilty of a racially-aggravated public order offence in the corresponding fixture last year. Terry remains the subject of a Football Association investigation over charges that he denies.

There had been a lot of talk in the lead-up to the game with regard to the handshake with the Premier League issuing a statement insisting it would go ahead as planned.

Eyes were fixed on Ferdinand as he passed Terry and Cole and on both occasions he continued without offering his hand.

No other QPR player appeared to ignore Terry or Cole, who testified as a character witness for his England and Chelsea team-mate at the trial.
