Global sports channel ESPN has partnered with the FA Women's Super League to find the next generation of sports TV presenters - with the launch of a national competition, 'Search For A Star'.

Headed-up by an elite panel of expert judges including ESPN football TV presenter Rebecca Lowe, Team GB Olympian Ellen White and ESPN senior executive producer Andrew Hornett, the competition welcomes all aspiring sports presenters aged between 12-16.

The winner will be given the chance to write and present their own report for ESPN.

To enter, hopefuls are asked to upload an original, single-camera 60-second video report on a recent sport event to their own YouTube account and send the URL to the official teen media partner Shout magazine at star@shoutmag.com.

Entries will be whittled down to four lucky finalists who will be invited to the ESPN Studios in London on Tuesday, September 25 for an exclusive tour and TV presenting masterclass. The finalists will be given the chance to impress the panel of judges with their newly acquired presenting techniques, and a final winner will be chosen.

Rebecca Lowe, ESPN broadcaster, commented: "This is a really exciting and rare opportunity for young stars to get involved and have a go at being a real life sports presenter. I was given my big break through a similar competition and it shows just what hard work and determination can do."

To celebrate the launch of the competition, The FA and ESPN will be holding a special presenting workshop and football training session at the Birmingham City Ladies training ground at Kings Norton on Monday 20th August.

Local children from the area will be invited to attend and take part in a football skills sessions and be given first hand coaching tips on how to be a TV sports presenter.
