Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has claimed that Paris St Germain have offered Sao Paulo €45 million for Manchester United target Lucas Moura, a fee he believes is "completely illogical".

Lucas, 19, is one of football's hottest properties at present, with the Nerazzurri, United and PSG among those clubs interested in swooping for him.

But while United had appeared to be in the driving seat to secure a €30 million move, Moratti believes the Red Devils will be trumped by PSG - who are prepared to splash out an extra €15 million to land the Brazil international.

And the Nerazzurri chief says Inter are now definitely out of the running to sign Lucas because they are unable to compete with the financial might of the Qatari-backed Parisiens.

"We would never have gone up to that sum," Moratti told Sky Sport Italia. "In any case, there are no regrets that we didn't finish off the move, as the cost was already pretty high a few days ago.

"The €45 million that PSG offered is completely illogical and for us it would have been very out of key with our approach.

"PSG are starting a new era, so they are completely reconstructing the squad. At least I can relish the fact I'm saving money."
