Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson has lauded the club's new attacking recruits, believing that Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud will be "fantastic assets" for the Gunners.

Jenkinson, 20, joined Arsenal last summer and impressed in patches during an injury-hit campaign.

The full-back, though, is delighted at the prospect of playing alongside the Gunners' latest signings.

"They are two world-class players, they are fantastic signings and fantastic assets for this club," Jenkinson told Arsenal Player.

"I am really looking forward to playing alongside them both. Everyone is delighted that we have signed players of that calibre."

Arsenal announced the signing of Podolski in April, before adding France striker Giroud last month. Doubts, though, remain over the future of striker Robin van Persie.
